• Ramon Goose, well-known for his work with experimental/alternative group Nublues and the production of albums by Boo Boo Davis and Billy Jones on the Black & Tan label, spices up the new recordings of Senegalese singer/kora player Diabel Cissokho with superlative blues guitar lines.

• A daring, seamless album that combines two musical idioms organically - the beauty of West African music with the soul of the Blues - ‘Mansana Blues’ is both fresh and seminal. The poignant conversations between Diabel's kora and Ramon's slide guitar are truly exhilarating.

• Senegalese musician Diabel Cissokho is part of a griot family of musicians with a rich musical heritage. He grew up in Dakar, and started playing the kora at the age of 9. He has lived in London for many years and for three years was kora player for Baba Maal. He has supported and played with numerous artists, including Nuru Kane, Abdou Diop, Kandia Kouyate and Mama Draba - as well as performing alongside Femi Kuti, Cheikh Lo and Manu Dibango.

• Ramon has toured all over Europe with the likes of Eric Burdon, The Blind Boys of Alabama and has performed with James Brown’s bandleader Pee Wee Ellis, plus a short stint with American bluesman Eric Bibb. Recent projects have included playing live with Hilaire Chaby-Hary (Baaba Mal) & other West African musicians.
