Shrinivas plays the electric mandolin in a classical and modern Indian style. He picked up the instrument at age 6, and toured the world as a child prodigy beginning at age 10. He has continued to tour and turn fans on to Indian music ever since, performing at major world music and jazz festivals, including an appearance at the Olympic Games in 1992. He continues to tour with his own ensemble, and with John McLaughlin.
