• These two guitar playing brothers from the Tabajaras tribe in Brazil became a well-known act in South America and Mexico during the 50s, performing folk song and adaptations of classical tunes. Success in the USA and Europe followed and with a repertoire expanded to include popular songs of the day they became show headliners and reached the top 10 in the States with Maria Elena.

• At a time when instrumentals were still in vogue the duo’s particular appeal lay in their exotic background and simple melodic approach, with a vibrato laden, almost Hawaiian, guitar sound.
