• This is the first time that all of this material is contained on a single set and in the order in which it was recorded. This set includes the complete contents of the original LPs The Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis ‘Cookbook’ Vols. 1 to 3 (1958), ‘Jaws’ (1958) & ‘Smokin’ (1960), all originally on Prestige - plus all of the other songs from the sessions.

• A quartet set by the exact same personnel (but with Scott on piano instead of organ) has been added as a bonus.

• Personnel : Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, tenor sax; Jerome Richardson, flute, tenor & baritone sax; Shirley Scott, organ; George Duvivier, bass; Arthur Edgehill, drums - Hackensack, New Jersey, 1958.
