• After the great success gained with his 2007 release ‘Note Book’ and numerous club sets around Europe, DJ and producer Gerardo Frisina presents his new album titled “Join The Dance”. Italian Latin jazz impresario, Ishtar producer and founder of the Rearward & Schema labels, Frisina employs a melting pot of organic Latin rhythms, psych-jazz and dance floor-focused grooves.

• The single “Will You Walk A Little Faster” featuring Norma Winstone has been previewed on Gilles Peterson Worldwide (BBC Radio 1). It was originally composed by Neil Ardley for his 1972 ‘Symphony of Amaranths’ album.

• The album title, and the up-tempo productions might imply this is purely a dance album, but it is rather more in the jazz genre - with the strong modern Latin and Afro-Cuban influences that are distinctive to all of Gerardo’s work - plus experimentations with new sounds and influences, such as the Asian-inspired track ‘Mille e una Notte’ and two songs in 3/4 time.

• Of the 12 pieces, nine are new originals and 3 are covers. “I’m Gonna Go Fishin’” is sung by Francesca Sortino, well-known Italian singer who has worked with Paolo Fresu, Stefano Di Battista, Eddie Henderson, Pierre Michelot, and many more. There is also a version of a jazz tune taken from the 1959 film "Anatomy of a Murder", written by Duke Ellington and Peggy Lee. The third and last cover on the album is “Titoro”, written by Billy Taylor and originally recorded by his trio in 1957.
