• Released for the first time ever on DVD, this splendid issue showcases Oscar Peterson (1925-2007) in a unique performance with his 1988 trio, featuring bassist Dave Young and drummer Martin Drew. They all shine on this wonderfully filmed concert, recorded at Stadthalle Leonberg, Leonberg, Germany, on April 25, which features a repertoire of standards and Peterson tunes. There is also a short interview.

• Both the pianist and bassist were Canadian and had played together since 1973. This DVD presents the chance to see and hear a rare line-up of the Oscar Peterson Trio. Peterson’s last recordings with Dave Young consisted of duets recorded in January 1995. Martin Drew would continue working with Peterson into the 1990s. Their last collaborations listed in discographies were made live in Vienna, Austria, in November 2003.
