• The Danish-based Trio Klezmer present this new CD of Eastern European klezmer-music and Yiddish Lieder. The group is led by vocalist Channe Nussbaum, with violinist Mette Smidl and accordionist Øyvind Ougaard. Over the last ten years the trio has given many successful concerts both in Denmark and abroad.

• Trio Klezmer plays an updated brand of klezmer music with strong elements of the Gypsy tradition - partly due to violinist Mette Smidl who has Hungarian roots and played Gypsy-music alongside the classical tuition she received at the Copenhagen Music Conservatory.

• Channe Nussbaum is a well-known Klezmer singer, both in Denmark and internationally, and she appears in several other groups including Spielniks and Klezmofobia. She says : "We play traditional Jewish music; however, we include Hungarian and Rumanian gypsy instrumental stanzas in the middle of the songs, which fit well together".

• The title-piece ”Es Scheint” is composed by Nussbaum. In a Jewish songbook she came across an old text written by a Holocaust survivor. The tune pays tribute both to those who survived and the many who perished.
