Having conducted Magnard throughout his career, Ansermet decided in his twilight years to record the Third Symphony which would be his last recording with the OSR. The D’Indy work gives the listener the opportunity of hearing the illustrious French pianist Robert Casadesus, who worked with Ansermet from a young age.
