• This set was filmed on February 29, 1980 (yes, a leap year) at the Paris Jazz spot “Le Dreher” in the Rue Saint-Denis No.1. It was a small cellar bar that hosted Chet Baker several times during his European tours, and where he was recorded extensively in June of the same year.

• Concerts during his later years often depended upon his health, and drug intake, but on this evening at ‘Dreher’, Chet felt well, and he gave the pieces that he played so often the unique touch of his invention and trumpet technique (he also sings a bit on “Just Friends”, but sadly he was mostly off-mike).

• This is the first time that this leap year performance appears on any format. Note: this footage comes from rare vintage TV broadcasts and the image quality is not up to today’s standards. It is presented here for the exceptional quality of the music and historical importance.
