• .....He is definitely a talented singer and songwriter. His deep, rich voice has gained more clout, and the song-writing is further refined. There are still romantic, thoughtful pop songs, which this time have got a decent shot strings, which underline the great emotions expressed. Especially the songs ‘I Miss Life’ and ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ (which has a touch of The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven’) has hit potential while ballads as ‘Alas’ and ‘Faustus’ are decidedly beautiful. In the middle of it all we get a little reading of Soren Kierkegaard, but unusually Caspar David is both theologian and parish priest, as well as rock musician. There should be a place on the music scene for Caspar David, who remains extremely promising, in fact excellent. - Gaffa.dk (Danish website)
• Caspar David’s second album, ‘In The Flux’ is released on the Danish Exlibris label. Three years ago he released the praised debut album Let the Past Begin, on Sony BMG, but has chosen to issue this album independently.
• It was a tough choice involving much travelling between Copenhagen and his home in Barcelona, frequent separation from his wife & young children; funding problems, delays, and emotional despair. In the midst of it all, he decided to return to the theology study and finish the priest seminar - a decision that has caused the whole family to moved back to Denmark.
• But here is the finished album. A solo project, yet so much more a joint venture made in collaboration with the group of top-notch professional musicians, who for several years have spent their time on this album and believed in the project.
• Beside Frederik Mellqvist as producer and on keyboards etc. you will find Poul Terkildsen on drums and percussion, Brian Larsen as arranger, Søren Bigum on guitar, bass and percussion, Simon Luth on guitar, Palle Hjort on piano, Ceclie Hyldgård on cello, the singer Esther Marie and the Szeged Symphony Orchestra from Budapest. |
