• “Other Directions” was originally released on Blue Note in 2004. On it, Nicola Conte puts aside his normal acid jazz-bossa approach in favour of a more post-bop, modern swing album, with its roots in ‘60s jazz - although there’s still a bit of retro jazz bossa here.

• This album is now released in a deluxe digipak double gatefold sleeve with a bonus second CD that includes previously unissued tracks, alternate takes and extended versions.

• There’s a top-notch band of Italian musicians with him, including : Gianluca Petrella, trombone; Daniele Scannapieco, tenor sax; Fabrizio Bosso, trumpet & flugelhorn; Rosario Giuliani, alto sax; Till Bronner, trumpet and vocals; Pietro Lusso, piano; Pietro Ciancaglini, double bass; Lorenzo Tucci, drums; Nicola Stilo, flute - and Conte himself, on guitar.

• Nicola Conte is an Italian DJ, producer and guitar player known for introducing an innovative style of acid jazz that incorporates bossa nova themes, melodies drawn from Italian film scores of the 1960s, easy listening themes, and ethnic Indian music.

• Conte's first album was ‘Jet Sounds’ (2000), which spawned the international underground hit, "Bossa Per Due" soon used for a prime-time TV commercial. This was followed by the ‘Jet Sounds Revisited’ remix album in late 2002. Then ‘Quiet Stars’ in 2006; ‘Viagem’ and ‘Rituals’, both in 2008; ‘Viagem 2’ and ‘The Modern Sounds of...’ (on Schema) in 2009.
