• Shira Ethane is a group of four Norwegian musicians who specialize in klezmer music, and this is their debut album.

• Formed in 2005, The four members have a diverse musical background. They appeared that year at Klezfest in London, and were invited back the following year.

• On the violin, we Leoni Abrahamsen Kohn.She is a third generation Jewish immigrant, and she has studied violin at the Music Academy in Oslo. On the clarinet, Kirsten Jacobsen, clarinet, Marianne Halmrast bass, and Anne Sørtømme, accordion - are all also music conservatory-trained musicians with various special interests in folk music.

• The album is predominantly instrumental and the playing is dynamic, melodic, soulful, and technically of a very high quality.
