• Moshtaq was founded by Reza Ghassemi in Paris in 1988 with other expatriate Iranian musicians. The ensemble played numerous concerts in both Europe and United States until 1995 when Reza Ghassemi began to devote all his time to literature.

• After 15 years of absence Moshtaq is making a fresh start with these uplifting pieces to take wing anew inspired by the great movement of Iranian people towards democracy. The group’s music and instrumental techniques are based on the radif -- the Persian classical repertoire -- but the compositions are Ghassemi’s own.
