• The complete original LP ‘Blue’s Moods’, Blue Mitchell’s first entirely quartet album - featuring a superb rhythm section : Wynton Kelly on piano, Sam Jones on bass and Roy Brooks on drums.

• As a bonus, all of Mitchell’s other existing quartet recordings are included, with the exception of his participation as a sideman on Bobby Timmons’ 1960 album ‘Soul Time’. In all, this completes all of Mitchell’s quartet recordings as a leader, as well as all of his quartet recordings with Wynton Kelly.

• Personnel : Blue Mitchell, trumpet; Wynton Kelly, piano; Sam Jones, bass; Roy Brooks, drums - New York, August 24 & 25, 1960. On bonus tracks : Philly Joe Jones replaces Brooks - New York, September 30, 1959 and New York, July 2, 1958, and on that 2nd date, Wilbur Ware replaces Jones.
