• Clarence H Miller was a trombone and bass playing blues shouter influenced by Walter Brown and Joe Turner. He sang with Jay McShann's outfit in the mid-50s and made his breakthrough in New York in 1959 with his debut LP "Did You Ever Hear the Blues?". After appearing at the 1960 Monterey Jazz Festival he went to Hollywood and recorded "Revelation and the Blues" which confirmed his status as a front rank blues singer

• Big Miller spent the latter part of his life in Canada, where he died in 1992.
