• Here is a star of the future. Andrea Motis, who is only fifteen, stands out as one of the main jazz trumpet players and saxophonists in the city of Barcelona, and indeed Spain. But not only this, she is also an exquisite singer who many people have compared to the voice to Norah Jones.

• Joan Chamorro, a well-known saxophonist, oversees & plays with the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, the youngest band in Europe, born in the Sant Andreu’s Municipal School of Music, in 2006. In his job as music teacher, he was the one who discovered the amazing musical talents of one of his pupils, Andrea Motis.

• Now, under the leadership of Chamorro, this album presents the young star with some highly talented fellow Catalan students, along with established players like Ignasi Terraza, Bobby Gordon and David Mengual.

• The selection of songs chosen includes over an hour of classic jazz from the earlier half of the twentieth century, although there are forays into bossa nova - but just listen to Andrea Motis on trumpet & saxophones, and especially her sublime singing. Check out her great performances on Youtube too - and there are other excellent young talents in the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, as well.
