• Based in Portugal, Dazkarieh formed in 1999 with the intention of making music with several world cultures as their inspiration - exploring their Portuguese heritage and roots (but more than just ‘fado’) and blending it with contemporary influences.
• Now they are back with ‘Ruído do Silêncio‘ (Sound of Silence), their fifth studio album, revealing again their highly individual style and approach. Twelve intense, imaginative pieces - all original compositions - which use acoustic instruments and traditional influences in a modern way.
• In 2010, they completed an international tour that took them to venues and festivals throughout Malaysia, Germany, Austria, Estonia, Poland, Spain and Portugal - helping them to develop new musical paths and explore other music cultures, which in turn has influenced this album.
• Dazkarieh are: Vasco Ribeiro Casais: Bouzouki, Nyckelharp, Portuguese Bagpipes; Joana Negrão: Vocals, Tambourine, Adufe (Square Drum); Rui Rodrigues: Guitar, Cavaquinho; André Silva: Drums.
