• Two albums recorded in 1959 by promising vocalists who never realised their full potential. Jesse Belvin, a real star in the making, died in a car crash only a few weeks after the session while Hawaiian singer Ethel Azama’s career never really took off and she emigrated to Australia

• Although cut for different labels, the common factor was Marty Paich who arranged and conducted both studio dates using alto saxophonist Art Pepper to take care of the soloing. The combination of talents turned each album into a wonderful example of timeless musical creativity
