• Fresh from her nationwide tour of her homeland, critically acclaimed New Zealand folk pop songstress Michelle Nadia is embarking on a tour of the UK to promote her debut album ‘Firefly’.
• Michelle Nadia has been writing and performing her songs since the age of 18. She has played for audiences throughout her own country as well as further a field in London, Los Angeles, New York, Dublin and Sydney, where she majored in vocals at the Australian Institute of Music.
• The album's title track 'Firefly' was also recently featured on BBC Essex Introducing Show, where it was the station’s album of the week. She is also due to be interviewed on BBC Cornwall, and several other local radio stations.
• Her UK tour starts on 20 July 2011 and goes through until September, covering venues including London (3 venues), Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Bath, Winchester, Cambridge, Penzance and Barnstaple.
• Her album studio band includes Bruce Lynch (Cat Stevens, Kate Bush), Nic Manders (Brooke Fraser, Brigitte Demeyer), Andy Lynch (The Feelers, Zed), Murray Grindlay (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Co-Composer – ‘Once Were Warriors’ Soundtrack) and Jolyon Mulholland (Gasoline Cowboy, Neil Finn).
• Michelle has appeared regularly on New Zealand television, where her song 'Stars' received extensive radio and TV video play, and has been used on Air New Zealand's in-flight entertainment. |
