• "Meet Mr Roberts" romps through a set of standards and has an unusual lineup featuring three trombonists, two French horns, vibes, bass, drums and harp. On the second album he used a sextet and added a special mute to the bass trombone to produce an unusually appealing, warm and happy sound. With generous wit and a dash of sentiment Roberts kept the tone light and bouncy on both records
