• After 4 years ‘absence’ from recording, the Norwegian guitarist Knut Vaernes presents a new, and different album : backed by the world famous Vertavo String Quartet, he interprets compositions written between 1992 and 2000. All of which having been released on Knut´s earlier albums in more typical jazz-fusion settings.

• The idea was simple: to try and view the tunes from a totally different angle by putting the guitar together with a string quartet. The interplay is very fitting and offers passionate passages and beautiful moods in a very innovative way.

• Vaernes studied with John Scofield, and has worked with Nils Petter Molvaer, Terje Gewelt, Danny Gotlieb, Morten Halle, and the Jon Eberson Group with Sidsel Endresen.
