• Ten Drum represent innovation and a departure from the approach of traditional Asian percussion ensembles, whose music is handed down through generations and operates between strict geographical boundaries. The group not only use Taiwanese percussion but also adapt drums from China, Korea, Japan, India and Africa and have added strings and woodwind.

• Ten Drum’s repertoire consists not of ancient, time-honoured pieces but contemporary compositions by the band's leader HsiehTen. The musicians are all young and full of the energy required for the physical aspect of their performance.

• Today Ten Drum is the cultural ambassador of the Republic of China. Through their creativity and energy the group represents the spirit of Taiwan, a country that is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2011.
