• Vonda Shepard, best known for her theme song, music and appearances in the Ali McBeal TV series, releases this new studio album of solo performances, accompanying herself on piano.

• It has been a long-cherished desire of Vonda’s to record a personal, private solo album of this kind, and on this clear, direct recording, overseen by her husband, producer Mitchell Froom, she revisits hits like "You Belong To Me," "Maryland" and "Baby Don’t You Break My Heart Slow" alongside newer songs like the single "I Know Better" from her “From The Sun” album.

• With only piano and voice, these songs are revealed in a new intimate light, and Vonda Shepard is able to present herself and her compositions in a way her recordings have previously not been able to. She also adds her own intriguing version of the old Four Tops’ hit “Walk Away Renee”.

• Born in New York City, Vonda moved to California with her family as a child and began piano lessons at age six. By 21, she was working with Rickie Lee Jones, then Al Jarreau, and eventually Jackson Browne. In 1987, Vonda secured her first solo deal with Reprise Records and two years later an eponymous album was released. A second Reprise album was released; then a third album, in 1995, issued independently - which fortuitously came to the attention of the then upcoming new Ali McBeal show.
