• ‘Memories of Days Gone By’ is the debut solo album by Danish singer, Kira. It’s a jazz album, a tribute to Billie Holiday, with a top-drawer quintet, featuring : Jakob Dinesen, tenor sax; Mads Hyhne, trombone; Heine Hansen, piano; Nicolai Munch-Hansen, bass; and R.J. Miller, drums.

• There are songs closely associated with Lady Day, and songs chosen to fit well with the project, plus two compositions by Kira & husband Munch-Hansen, and one by herself - all sung with fine ability, sensitivity and a languid elegance that captures more than a little touch of her iconic muse.

• Kira (born Kira Skov, June 6, 1976) was previously best known as the lead singer of rock band Kira & The Kindred Spirits (formed in 2002), and prior to that in the US-based group Butterfly Species.
