• When this album came out, Billboard appropriately rated it a “spotlight winner”: it went on to spend nine weeks at number one on the US album charts. Each song here, except for the title track, ‘Nice ‘n’ Easy’, is sung in a ballad tempo, with Sinatra backed by the romantic sound that was Nelson Riddle’s trademark.

• The title song was a last-minute substitute for the originally planned ‘The Nearness of You’, which did not appear on the original LP.
