• The material on ‘Affinity’ was taped in 1977, in Lund, Sweden, during a jam session with the great Stan Getz at the home of bass player Peter Silfverskjöld, Getz’s brother-in-law, three different pianists : pianists — Dage Jonsson, Lars Wadenbäck, and Olle Larson.

• Getz is in fine form on a series of standards - Harry Warren, Cole Porter, Burke-Van Heusen, Steyne-Chan, Isham Jones, plus a brief Getz piece and one by the bassist and a backing pianist.

• The sound is surprisingly good, there is some amusing banter between tracks and the whole session swings in a thoroughly satisfying way. This recording was never intended for commercial release, but we can all be thankful it has been !
