• The Swedish quartet, The Splendour, present the follow-up to their celebrated 2008 debut, ‘The Sound of Splendour’, with this new album that has a greater focus on spontaneous interaction than ever before, with some of the pieces completely improvised.

• The music can be both open and dense modern jazz, a colourful but sometimes blurred or elusive soundscape, like a late night conversation, with Rylander’s sax sometimes reminiscent of Wayne Shorter.

• The Splendour are : saxophonist Lisen Rylander (of Midaircondo); pianist Fabian Kallerdahl, bassist Joseph Kallerdahl (both from Musicmusicmusic; and Fabian also in Le Systeme) and drummer Lars Källfelt (Andreas Gidlund Quartet).
