• Music For Jazz Orchestra" was originally released in 2002, to celebrate the 75th birthday of Albert Mangelsdorff, one of the great innovators of modern jazz trombone, and features Mangelsdorff with the finely honed NDR Big Band

• The main feature is a rearranged version of Mangelsdorff's 5-movement "Concert For Jazz Orchestra" written in 1987; plus the classics "Visit" (based on his 1985 piece "Hot Hut" ) and "Meise Vorm Fenster" ('Variations on A Bird's Call').

• Arrangements allow fabulous solists like Christof Lauer (saxophone), Ingolf Burkhardt (trumpet), Vladyslav Sendecki (piano) and Wolfgang Haffner (drums) to let their creativity unfold, while demanding immense concentration from the whole ensemble.
