He left Cuba in 1960, ending up in Sweden where for many years he lived a quiet life in a Stockholm suburb. The resurgence of interest in Cuban music gave him his own Bueno Vista moment when he went back into the recording studio in the mid-90s, resulting in festival and concert appearances
• Double CD recorded in 1998 to mark his 80th birthday. Bebo plays piano backed by a percussion group which includes his son Rickard
