• The new album from the legendary Brazilian singer, Maria Bethania, which she has entitled "Oasis of Bethânia", has no precedent in her career. It consists of 10 covers of songs by great Brazilian song-writers, featuring special guests and arrangements on each track.
• The guests include Djavan, arranging and playing guitar on a previously unissued song of his, "Vive"; and also : Lenine, Hamilton de Holanda, Jorge Helder, Jaime Alem , Maurício Carrilho, Marcelo Costa, Luciana Rabello and André Mehmari who join Maria on individual songs.
• The repertoire also contains songs by Chico Buarque, Roque Ferreira, Paulo Cesar Pinheiro (with lyrics by Bethania herself), Marino Pinto and Paulo Soledade, and Jota Velloso.
• Since the start of her career, in 1964, Maria Bethania has released over 50 albums, under her own name, won numerous awards, and performed and recorded with a host of great names including Caetano Veloso (her brother), Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Omara Portuondo, and many others.
