• The constantly touring Ellington Orchestra enjoyed a six-day engagement in Stockholm in June 1963. They played on the outdoor stage at Gröna Lund every evening but finally moved to the indoor restaurant where they played a relaxed set for dancing. The two long shows they performed are presented here on this double CD.

• Ellington’s band at this time featured Swedish trumpeter Rolf Ericson and the audience was in for a treat: the chance to hear a few seldom heard tunes and the joy of hearing and feeling the sound of the great orchestra up close and in the moment.
