Susanne Rydén (sop.), The Stockholm Baroque Ensemble with Mark Tatlow (hpd.).

This attractively-presented CD offers an ingenious programme which traces the development of music at the court of Queen Christina, as she travelled from Sweden after her abdication, via Austria to Rome. Most of the vocal honours belong to soprano Susanne Rydén, who initiated the project and who "rises superbly to the challenge", as BBC Music Magazine puts it, in a glowing review which concludes simply with the words "Strongly recommended".
