• British blues-based 5-piece, Hokie Joint, release this second, much anticipated album, ‘The Music Starts To Play’ which sees influences drawn from the darkness of the Delta to the depths of Danube.
• Since releasing their acclaimed debut album ‘The Way It Goes…Sometimes’ through Amsterdam based label Cool Buzz in 2008, Hokie Joint have had the honour of sharing the bill alongside legendary artists including Steve Winwood, Booker T and the late great Solomon Burke, coupled with opportunities to play mainstage performances at key European blues festivals.
• Formed in late 2007, Hokie Joint have created their own unique brand of dirty, roots based groove music - reminding the blues world, especially via their dramatic and raw live shows, that the music they hold so dear is about more than just a guitarist’s dexterity.
• 2011 will also see this eclectic British band embark on their busiest year of touring to date, playing alongside the likes of ZZ Top, Jamie Cullum and Moby. They will play 26 dates between June and September - 19 in the UK - spreading a sound as fresh and vibrant today as the pioneers of the ‘60’s blues revival were before them. Hokie Joint must be seen to be believed !
